The Mission of the San Francisco Department of Public Health (SFDPH) is to protect and promote the health of all San Franciscans. SFDPH strives to achieve its mission through the work of two main Divisions - the San Francisco Health Network and Population Health. The San Francisco Health Network is the City’s only complete system of care and has locations throughout the City, including Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center, Laguna Honda Hospital and Rehabilitation Center, and over 15 primary care health centers.

Under general supervision, the 2322 Nurse Manager (Long Term Care/Geriatric Nursing) supervises the delivery of patient care at a licensed general acute care/skilled nursing facility with rehabilitation services. The 2322 Nurse Manager (Long Term Care/Geriatric Nursing performs the following essential job functions:
The 2322 Nurse Manager (Long Term Care/Geriatric Nursing) also performs other related duties as required.
1. LICENSE: Possession of a valid, including temporary or interim, California Registered Nurse License issued by the Board of Registered Nursing (BRN); AND
2. EDUCATION: Possession of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and/or university in Nursing, Nursing Administration, or a closely related field; AND
3. EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years (equivalent to 4,000 hours) of experience as a Registered Nurse in a long-term care, rehabilitation, or acute care hospital, within the last five (5) years.
Substitution: Two (2) years of additional experience as an Assistant Nurse Manager/Charge Nurse in a long-term care facility, licensed home health agency or other hospital setting may be substituted for the educational requirement. One (1) year (2,000 hours) of work experience is equivalent to 30 Semester Credits or 45 Quarter Credits.

One-year fulltime employment is equivalent to 2,000 hours (2,000 hours of qualifying work experience is based on a 40-hour work week).
