Job Description:

As an Associate Electrical Engineer, you'll leverage your technical expertise in building services systems across pioneering projects in the US and internationally. Job Duties:

  • Collaboration: Work closely with clients, architects, and other engineers/design team members.
  • Design: Produce detailed design drawings, electronic models, specifications, reports, and schedules. Coordinate with utility companies and obtain necessary electrical permits.
  • Proposals: Organize technical and financial proposals for new work.
  • Management: Oversee workload of project discipline engineers and technicians, ensuring quality verification.
  • Engineering Solutions: Develop concept and preliminary engineering solutions for detailed design.
  • Technical Specifications: Prepare comprehensive technical specifications.
  • Financial Monitoring: Track the financial performance of projects.
  • Mentorship: Guide junior electrical engineers.
  • Client Advocacy: Ensure practices and services align with client interests, current legislation, and relevant building codes.
  • Workload Management: Plan, organize, and manage personal workload to meet deadlines.
  • Resource Utilization: Maintain project team workload and commitments to meet deadlines efficiently.
  • Project Profitability: Contribute to delivering profitable projects through effective financial and resource management.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 8+ years in electrical engineering design within building services and construction industry.
  • Preferred Sectors: Higher Education, Museums, Commercial, Transportation Hubs, and/or Stadiums.
  • Education: Relevant bachelor's or master’s degree.
  • Certifications: Professional Engineer (P.E.) preferred, LEED AP accreditation desirable.
  • Software Skills: Proficiency in Revit and computational analysis tools for electrical fault analysis and lighting design.
  • Responsibility: Ability to handle significant responsibility in a team-based organization and independently.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of electrical systems with problem-solving skills.
  • Communication: Excellent client-facing and communication skills, with experience presenting to C-suite stakeholders.
  • Reporting: Experience in preparing technical reports for clients.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to propose multiple solutions to clients and summarize the benefits and drawbacks of each.

Must-Haves:

  • 8+ years of electrical engineering design experience in the building services and construction industry, specifically in larger-scale projects such as higher education, commercial, museums, and airports.
  • Electrical engineering experience in California.
  • Competency in using design software such as Revit and familiarity with computational analysis tools.
  • Ability to lead projects and mentor junior engineers.
  • Up to 15 years of total professional experience.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • P.E. Certification: Professional Engineer certification to enhance credibility and expertise.
  • LEED AP Accreditation: Demonstrates expertise in sustainable design practices.
