Job Description

The Experiential Marketing team develops and oversees global B2C activations including but not limited to Olympic and Paralympic Games, FIFA, NFL and Visa Live At music series.  This team is leading the transformation of the Visa brand in the hearts and minds of consumers by creating compelling, unique and meaningful experiences in real life and through digital extensions.  We are on a journey to embrace the emerging and accelerating trends of pop culture, and position Visa as the best way to pay and get paid. Through experiential marketing, we are generating greater preference for the Visa brand.

The Global Experiential and Entertainment Marketing Director position will lead the strategic planning and execution of experiential marketing campaigns, including but not limited to events, consumer engagement activities, sponsorships, and partnerships.

This job greatly hinges on cross-functional collaboration, making physical presence in the office critical for optimum performance and effective teamwork.

Essential Functions (include but not limited to):

Responsible for the development and execution of premium experiences from client to brand to consumer.

Support centralized management of the experiential program across all sports sponsorship verticals: Olympics, FIFA and NFL as well as emerging platforms such as music.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams on the development and seamless execution of experiences.

Assist in tracking and measuring the performance of experiential marketing campaigns and make recommendations for strategy adjustments to optimize results.

Manage budget allocation and spending for experiential marketing activities.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD



Preferred Qualifications:

  • 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
  • 12 or more years of work experience directly related experience in event and or experiential marketing.
  • Experience with executing complex events including international activations.
  • Must have managed project budgets of 5M or more.
  • Professionally qualified or equivalent with event experience and finance, administration experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to influence and build credibility as a peer with Global Functions and Regions.
  • Team player – detail oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible, with excellent presentation skills.
  • Strong teamwork and relationship-building skills and leads by influence and example.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills including the ability to present to all executive corporate levels
  • Experience managing external vendors and agency partners with excellent relationship skills.
  • Strong project management skills and is able to drive consensus in cross regional and cross functional teams.
  • Ability to handle projects with multiple work streams, with proven leadership success over a wide variety of marketing business problems.
  • Ability to manage and coordinate complex cross-enterprise projects and processes with multiple stakeholders at both senior and junior levels.
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor.
  • Ability to work with a sense of urgency and deliver under tight deadlines, timeframes, prioritize workload.
  • Personal presence and ability to clearly communicate compelling messages to executives, senior managers, and external business partners.
  • A demonstrated ability to integrate information from a wide variety of sources to arrive at optimal problem solutions and offer innovative alternatives and options towards resolution.
  • Current on Industry and individual talent trends.
  • Proficient on all Microsoft products including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Willing to travel as needed (domestically and internationally).

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 143,700 to 220,000 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
