Senior Software Engineer - Venture-Backed Live Events Technology Startup

Brooklyn, NY | On-Site | Founding Engineering Role

Our client is revolutionizing the $1.2 trillion live events industry through innovative ticketing technology. As one of the first engineering hires, you'll join a fast-paced, revenue-generating startup backed by prominent investors including Techstars and Comcast.

What You'll Do

• Architect and build scalable web applications using Node.js, React.js, and TypeScript
• Collaborate with the CTO to design serverless systems on AWS, utilizing DynamoDB and Lambda
• Transform design specifications into elegant, high-performance user interfaces
• Drive technical decisions that will shape the platform's foundation
• Interface directly with venues and stakeholders across the United States
• Contribute to a culture of engineering excellence through code reviews and best practices

Ideal Background

• 6+ years of experience building scalable web applications
• Strong expertise in React.js, Node.js, and modern JavaScript/TypeScript
• Deep understanding of AWS serverless architecture (Lambda, DynamoDB)
• Track record of architecting and deploying production systems
• Experience in early-stage startups or founding engineering roles
• Computer Science degree or equivalent experience
• Strong communication skills with ability to collaborate across teams

Preferred Experience

• Experience with real-time systems and payment processing
• Background in ticketing or live events technology
• History of mentoring engineers and contributing to team growth

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Salary: $140,000 - $180,000+ DOE
• Equity: 0.2% - 0.5%
