We are seeking our first detail-oriented and technically proficient Pre-Construction Expert to support our new RenoAdvisor offering. This role focuses on evaluating project feasibility, conducting cost estimates, and ensuring technical alignment with city bylaws and construction standards. You will develop comprehensive, feasible project roadmaps that set homeowners up for renovation success; in close collaboration with a core team, consisting of an Architectural Designer and a Construction Sales Executive.
You’ll join a team that’s eliminating the typical frustrations homeowners face by providing early-stage guidance and practical solutions to set up renovation projects for success. We are the Homeowner’s greatest advocate! This role allows you to make a greater impact, helping hundreds of Homeowners successfully renovate their homes.
A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOU:
You are an experienced pre-construction professional with a deep understanding of residential renovation feasibility, technical design considerations, and cost management. You excel in identifying potential project risks, navigating local building codes and city regulations, and aligning project scopes with budget constraints. Your ability to translate complex technical requirements into actionable steps makes you an invaluable resource to both internal teams and homeowners.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
Evaluating project feasibility by assessing structural requirements, zoning regulations, utility capacities, and other technical factors.
Conducting detailed cost analysis, including budget forecasting, cost comparisons, and risk assessments to ensure financial viability.
Providing guidance on city bylaws, permitting processes, and compliance with local construction codes and standards.
Collaborating closely with Construction Sales Executives and Architectural Designers to develop comprehensive renovation roadmaps.
Supporting the continuous improvement of RenoFi’s processes and tools by identifying opportunities to streamline pre-construction workflows.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in residential pre-construction, cost estimation, or construction project management in renovation construction
Strong knowledge of building codes, zoning regulations, and permitting processes in the San Jose / South Bay area
Proficiency in construction estimation
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented approach.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
