Position Description:

Lick-Wilmerding High School currently seeks a dedicated educator to join our Science Department as full-time teacher beginning August 2025. We are looking for candidates able to teach 4 sections of biology or chemistry and an upper level elective in related sciences (such as Anatomy & Physiology or Molecular Genetics) and lead an advisory; experience with integrated science is highly desirable as well.

We seek thoughtful, energetic, and passionate teachers who understand science as a dynamic process, are committed to cultivating curiosity in their students, and inspire a love of exploring the natural and physical world. We strive to help students find connections between themselves and social, ethical, environmental and political issues. We are also looking for genuine, kind colleagues and all-around "school people" who want to participate in and contribute to our vibrant community. A love of high school students, flexibility, and a sense of humor are essential.

As an institution committed to educating the whole child, we both invite and expect teaching faculty to participate fully in the academic and co-curricular life of the school. This includes, but is not limited to, furthering the mission of the school through participating in our Advisory, Public Purpose, and DEI Programs; as well as routine attendance in all curricular team meetings, department meetings, faculty meetings, and office hours to support students when needed.
