Senior Accountant Job Description

For over two decades, Kranz Consulting has been the recognized leader in providing superior financial consulting advisory services requested by startup and emerging growth company CEO’s, Boards, CFO’s and the most prominent Venture Capital firms.

This position is a full time and/or part-time role working as an employee of Kranz Consulting while providing fractional consulting services to our clients. The Senior Accountant position working inside our client companies is an operational and financial staff position that collaborates very closely with the senior management of our clients.

Responsibilities include:
  • Accounts Payable – Receive all incoming invoices, match invoices to Purchase Orders, route for approvals and payment, enter into the accounting system, prepare weekly accounts payable listing, identify vendors for payment, and ensure timely and accurate payment of vendor invoices.  Also, process expense reimbursement requests and prepare 1099s.
  • Payroll – Prepare and process payroll for our client companies including all necessary journal entries.
  • Cash Management – Assist with bank transaction activities, prepare a weekly cash forecasting report, prepare cash transfer request, reconcile cash accounts, and route checks for signature.
  • Accounts Receivable – Receive all incoming checks and prepare weekly cash collections report with aged receivables report. Assist with collections as needed.
  • Maintain month-end account reconciliations to ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures.
  • Assist the finance department in activities as needed.
  • Assist with tax support including Sales & Use tax, Delaware Franchise tax, and unsecured property taxes (571L).
  • Perform month end activities and balance sheet reconciliations– maintain accurate accrued prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and depreciation schedules.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting
  • 4+ years plus of previous accounting experience
  • Proficiency with accounting and transactions systems ( i.e.. QuickBooks, NetSuite, Xero, Bill.com, Expensify etc.…) in a user capacity
  • Cloud based accounting applications and platforms experience
  • Prior consulting experience is preferred
  • Strong organizational skills, analytical, and responsive communication skills
  • Detail Oriented
  • Ability to work Independently and as part of a team, be proactive, solve problems and learn new things.
  • Outstanding PC skills with MS Office and Google Suite
