Overview


International Architecture + Interiors studio is actively seeking a Senior Interior Designer to join their San Francisco office. Winner of Design Awards from AIA, Architizer, and Architectural Record, this studio has been recognized for its contemporary and innovative take on urban modern design. Projects include Shangri-La hotels, Four Seasons, and cutting-edge multi-family residences with amenities such as clubs, rooftops & bars, in NYC and San Francisco. The team also works with tech companies such as Google, mixed-use urban developments, and adaptive reuse projects in metropolitan areas! To continue their growth, their San Francisco studio is seeking a Senior Interior Designer to provide leadership and design support for the firm’s projects around the world, mainly focused in the hospitality & housing sector.

 

The ideal candidate will have a proven record of managing teams and project deadlines, tasks, and critical path assignments across multiple complex projects simultaneously. 

 

This position is responsible for the day-to-day management of the interiors studio and each of the projects’ operational success. This individual will drive teams’ progress on a variety of project deliverables and milestones including presentations, consultant coordination, construction drawings and specifications, as well as project execution and completion. Familiarity with industry-standard design phases and conventional multi-family residential project structures and design delivery is essential, as this role is responsible for ensuring the successful orchestration of the entire process with the team. You will work with and report to our office’s Director of Interiors.

 


Responsibilities:





  • Oversee project schedule management, maintaining schedule once established by Director




  • Development of a project through all phases of design: concept, schematic, design development, construction documentation and construction administration




  • Ensure design concepts are safe, functional, meet applicable building codes, client needs and budget constraints




  • Produce and prepare client design presentations, including rendered plans and elevations




  • Produce and manage technical construction drawing sets including: floor, finish, furniture, power and communication and reflected ceiling plans, sections, elevations, interior details for millwork and interior installations, interior finish specifications and lighting designs




  • Research, source and produce interior selections and full specifications: finish materials, hardware, lighting, appliance and plumbing




  • Lead and coordinate consultant teams including: MEP, SE, Lighting, Landscape, A/V, vendors and contractors




  • Assist with delivery, on-site installation and handover




  • Direct and mentor junior staff




  • Manage relations with suppliers and vendors






Qualifications





Preferred candidates will have:












  • 8+ years of experience with all phases of interior and architectural projects; medium to large scale multi-family experience required




  • Professional degree in architecture




  • CA license highly preferred




  • Knowledge of CA residential building code required




  • Strong interpersonal skills for client & consultant team management




  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of a team




  • Excellent graphic presentation, verbal and written communication skills




  • Strong organizational and technical capability




  • Revit and AutoCAD proficiency
