We’re looking for a Product Designer to join our small but mighty design team and shape our core teaching experience. As an integral member of the teachers pod, you’ll drive and iterate on features throughout the entire product lifecycle, from strategic discovery to high-fidelity prototypes. You'll serve as a strong advocate for users and set a high bar for crafting intuitive, accessible, and beautiful experiences. You’ll collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and ensure clear communication and alignment across the team. This is a great role for someone who is passionate about empowering both teachers and learners and thrives in a scrappy environment where they can have a lot of ownership.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Through honing and refining our product for educators, create a world class teaching experience to enable educators to teach Computer Science, AI and beyond Lead product design from blue sky concepts and onwards.
- Conduct actionable user research, from field visits to analytics, to inform design and product decision.
- Identify and understand our user types, their behaviors and the pain points of their user journeys.
- Partner with product, engineering, and content in a highly collaborative, ego-free environment
- Evangelize UX/UI best practices and processes, helping maintain a high bar of standards
Requirements
- 4+ years of professional experience with a proven track record of building beautiful UI/UX and understanding customer’s needs
- A passion for turning complex problems into elegant and engaging user experiencesOutstanding product design sensibility and craft – excelling at UX, visual design and interaction
- Product sensibility – experience informing product roadmaps and feature prioritizationSelf-motivated, and confident in independently leading end-to-end design work – creating concepts, defining requirements, documenting and assessing post-launch learnings
- Experience designing inclusively (ex. international, multi-language, accessible use cases)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills: you can clearly and concisely communicate with a diverse group of peers across time zones
- Nimble and adaptable. Can roll with the punches and thrive in a fast-paced, early-stage startup environment
- A positive, can-do attitude. You’re not deterred by minor setbacks and are able to swiftly overcome ambiguity
- You believe feedback is a gift. You can thoughtfully share feedback to others as needed, and you can receive feedback and grow from it.

$135,000 - $150,000 a year
Competitive salary ($135,000 –$150,000) and equity package in a well-funded, high growth company. Compensation is based on a number of relevant factors such as location, professional experience and related skill sets.

1. Portfolio Review Internally
2. Recruiter Screen (30 minutes)
3. Hiring manager interview (45 min)
4. Portfolio presentation (1 hr); Engineering interview (30 min); Product management interview (30 min)
5. Take-home project (3-5 hrs)
6. Values interview (30 min)
In your portfolio we are looking for 2-3 real-world examples of customer-facing products/features and an outline of your process, challenges, and learnings.
