Exciting Opportunity: Senior Software Engineer - Open Source Data Engine

Company Overview Our client is a well-funded Series A startup revolutionizing the data platform space. They've developed an innovative open-source distributed data engine that's currently processing workloads on 800,000+ CPU cores daily. Founded by technical leaders from prominent technology companies, they're backed by top-tier Silicon Valley investors including Y Combinator.

What You'll Do

• Play a key role in building and expanding core features of an open-source distributed query engine
• Work across the full technology stack, from frontend API and dashboard development to the distributed scheduler and Rust execution engine
• Collaborate directly with users to gather requirements and implement solutions
• Contribute to core architecture and product design decisions
• Help shape the future of distributed data processing for ML/AI workloads

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in full-stack software engineering
• Strong background in building web applications and cloud infrastructure
• Experience with modern web technologies and distributed systems
• Track record of shipping production-quality code
• Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with users

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Rust, C++, or systems programming
• Background in data processing technologies (e.g., Pandas, Spark)
• Familiarity with React and TypeScript
• Prior experience in early-stage startups
• Contributions to open-source projects

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Salary: $150,000 - $250,000
• Equity: 0.2% - 0.5%
