Staff Software Engineer, Ads Ingestion Infrastructure

Pinterest is one of the fastest growing online advertising platforms and our continued success depends on rapidly scaling our core revenue-generating systems. Specifically, we need 10X the scale of our campaign management, ad delivery, and machine learning platforms, while enabling developers inside Pinterest and external advertisers to build and iterate rapidly on new features. 

We're seeking talented Staff Software Engineers to join our dynamic Ads Ingestion Infrastructure team. 

Our mission is to build a scalable, performant item ingestion infrastructure to acquire merchant content data at Pinterest and serve merchant metadata on Shopping surfaces.

What you’ll do:

• In this pivotal role, you will contribute to architect and develop a scalable ingestion platform system, data pipelines, and tools for ingesting merchant and advertiser content. Your efforts will include rearchitecting and refining our catalog ingestion infrastructure to achieve greater scalability and performance handling billions of catalog items and petabytes of data more efficiently.
• Collaborate with partner teams to support new consumer facing products using the ingestion platform.
• You will join a skilled, highly-impactful team working on top company goals. Our team fosters close collaboration across product and infra teams, leading to direct impacts on hundreds of advertising product launches and improvements. You will also work with a strong team of engineers, providing technical guidance and mentorship.

What we’re looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years of relevant industry experience with distributed systems, systems programming and data pipelines.
• Experience in building and owning large scale high performance infrastructure powering ads, recommendation, search, or other consumer facing applications.
• Experience solving end-user problems and envisioning solutions to improve their productivity.
• Proficiency in Java and Python.

In-Office Requirement Statement: 

• We let the type of work you do guide the collaboration style. That means we're not always working in an office, but we continue to gather for key moments of collaboration and connection.
• This role will need to be in the office for in-person collaboration 1 times per week and therefore needs to be in a commutable distance from one of the following offices [SF, PA, SEA, NYC].
