Job Description
Everest Insurance, a member of the Everest Re Group, Ltd. is searching for an Underwriter to join our Wholesale Property team. This is a hybrid position working 3 days in office, 2 remote.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
This candidate will be responsible for assisting in the development a profitable book of business within the designated underwriting territory for Everest Wholesale Property, reporting to the Regional Head of Wholesale Property. The selected candidate will assist in implementation of a plan for growth in the region while creating brand awareness for Everest. This plan will include goals and objectives for the team as well as for the region.
Building and underwriting a diverse and profitable book of business
Developing and maintaining productive working relationships with appointed brokers
Developing, implementing and controlling pricing and a risk selection standard that supports strategic objectives and achieve desired financial goals
Effectively working with Actuarial, Claims, Loss Control, Operations, Finance, and Information Technology
Maintain awareness of competitor capabilities and strategies, as well as the overall insurance marketplace.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business or related field, with insurance designations a plus.
4 to 6 years of relevant, commercial property underwriting experience, with demonstrated skills to support leadership with strategies to support a profitable portfolio.
Be self-motivated and independent while maintaining underwriting discipline to achieve strategic objectives.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
Outstanding interpersonal relationship building and employee coaching and development skills.
Ability to assess risk inherent exposures and natural hazards.
The ability to travel up to 25%
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:
Outstanding interpersonal relationship building with all business functions.
Strong analytical skills in dissecting risk and portfolio data.
Excellent sales and negotiating competencies.

For CA only: The base salary range for this position is $85,000 - $125,000 annually. The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, experience, qualifications and work location.
