Role Description 

The Recruiter is the subject matter expert on the SF SPCA recruiting, Human Resources onboarding and ATS and HRIS systems. With excellent customer service, this Recruiter will report directly to the Talent Acquisition Manager and is responsible for the administration of all aspects of our recruiting program including researching, developing, and implementing effective recruiting and staffing strategies to attract and retain a diverse pool of qualified and capable talent for the organization.   


Core Responsibilities 

Essential Duties

  • Partner closely with the Talent Acquisition Manager, People Team, and Hiring Managers to execute on Sourcing and Hiring strategies 
  • Develop robust and diverse candidate pipelines through extensive and creative sourcing strategies inclusive of all applicable resources 
  • Engage with candidates to create a positive experience at every step in the process 
  • Focus on continuous improvement of time to hire, candidate experience, and offer acceptance rate 
  • Practice data hygiene and leverage data and metrics to validate recruiting success and identify opportunities for improvement 
  • Review and disposition applications promptly and accurately in our ATS 
  • Occasionally represent the Society at Career Fairs and Conferences  
  • Be a culture leader, advocate for SF SPCA, and contribute to employer branding initiatives 

Full-Cycle Recruiting 

  • Provide full cycle recruiting functions including but not limited to: 

       - Source qualified candidates 

       - Conduct interviews 

       - Create a shortlist of suitable candidates 

       - Schedule and coordinate virtual and in-person interviews 

       - Follow-up with hiring managers 

  • Build and maintain continuous pipelines of qualified candidates for current and future job openings 
  • Stay up-to-date on labor legislation, ensure recruiting practices comply with the applicable regulations 

Marketing & Employer Brand Presence  

  • Improve and continuously update the SF SPCA employer brand online presence 
  • Maximize use of social media, job boards, internet sourcing, and other technology to source candidates for open jobs 
  • Establish and maintain relationships with community employment organizations, colleges, and job training programs 
  • Participate in job fairs and career events and recruitment events to drive awareness of job opportunities 
  • Partner with and manage external relationships with job boards, third party recruitment agencies and staffing firms; ensure vendor contracts are in place and approved 

Data Analytics & Technology 

  • Use sophisticated applicant tracking systems and other recruiting software to track applicants through application and selection phases through to on-boarding 
  • Meet and exceed monthly and quarterly KPIs 

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and related experience 
  • 4+ years of full cycle recruiting experience 
  • Ability to handle competing priorities through multi-tasking and operating with a sense of urgency 
  • Enthusiasm for creating exceptional candidate experiences 
  • Proficiency in LinkedIn Recruiter, ATS systems, and other sourcing/recruiting tools 
  • Preferred experience with Microsoft 365 including Outlook, Word, Excel and SharePoint 
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills 
  • Sound judgment and ability to exercise complete discretion when dealing with confidential information 
  • High proficiency with computer software and database management; ability to utilize technical resources to problem solve 
  • Preferred recruiting experience with veterinary, clinical, STEM or hard to fill positions 
  • This is a hybrid position with two days required onsite and three remote. 

Salary & Benefits 

The starting salary for this position depends on the depth and breadth of experience. The expected range is $80,000 - $90,000.
