Academy of Art University is seeking full-time Class B Bus Drivers with two or more years of professional driving experience. As a Bus Driver for Academy of Art University, you will be responsible for safely transporting students and passengers to and from residential halls, classrooms and other Academy buildings.

Bus Drivers will operate a variety of transit vehicles along assigned routes while navigating the city streets of San Francisco. Our Drivers must be able to provide superior customer service in a safe, courteous and reliable manner; this is essential to the transportation team’s success in providing passengers with the best possible experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Transport students & staff between facilities on time according to schedule
  • Ensure safety by adhering to vehicle and traffic safety regulations at all times
  • Follow regulated procedure for all incidents, accidents and breakdowns
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness throughout shift
  • Reflect courteous and helpful image at all times: call out stops, return all lost and found items to security, maintain neat and clean appearance
  • Comply with all DOT and FMCSA requirements in addition to all Academy policies and procedures

Requirements:

  • Possess and maintain a valid Class B and California driver's license with passenger endorsement.
  • Possess a minimum of two years of professional passenger driving experience.
  • Be friendly, patient and enjoy interacting with others.
  • Ability to be vigilant while driving throughout downtown San Francisco.

Full-time afternoon shifts available, from 2pm to 10:30pm.

Compensation for our Bus Drivers is $28.00 per hour.

Bus Drivers may be scheduled up to 40 hours per week for 41 weeks per year. Hours are scheduled during the Fall, Spring and Summer semesters but that means you have time off in between semesters to pursue personal endeavors before a new semester begins again.

Full time employees working 40 hours per week for 52 weeks per year will be eligible to accrue vacation based on years of service (15 days' accrual at start). The Academy also offers full-time employees an opportunity to take one undergraduate course tuition free each semester. Employees also have access to our multi-lane swimming pool, fitness center and recreational programs, including our NCAA Division II events.
