Job Overview



The Mobile Healthcare Services Driver (MHSD) will be responsible for driving the mobile services van from its storage/parking place to places of services. The MHSD will prepare and set up the vehicle to be ready for services. The MHSD will stay on site during mobile services and provide support in crowd control and safety as well as aide in client registration and eligibility as needed. The MHSD will act as part of the mobile services team and is expected to support the team in providing high quality care for clients. The MHSD must maintain an active California Drivers License. May be required to work evenings and weekends.



Key Responsibilities



Driver/Van:



  • Drive the mobile services vehicle from place of storage/parking to service areas, complying with all motor vehicle codes and regulations.

  • Prepare and set up the vehicle for services as well as break down at end of session.

  • Note any maintenance issues for the vehicle and report them to the Mobile Services Manager or Director of Operations.

  • Maintains daily log of vehicle mileage and compressor hours.

  • Completes driver vehicle evaluation form weekly.

  • Maintains log of routine inspections of vehicle, daily, weekly and monthly.

  • Helps maintain cleanliness of the vehicle as directed, including interior and exterior.

  • Turns on and off all necessary equipment (autoclave, water, compressor, x-ray processor, etc.) at the beginning and end of each day.

  • Works with the Mobile Services Manager to secure parking permits for the mobile vehicle as appropriate.


Safety:



  • Engage and manage clients seeking mobile services

  • De-escalate clients or potentially volatile situations

  • Attend appropriate safety trainings

  • Ensure safe environment for clients and staff

  • Maintains awareness of potential risk to clients, staff and facility while clinic is in session.

  • Liaison with police or other public safety providers as needed

  • Respond appropriately to patients and families or significant others that are exhibiting aggressive behavior, according to network policy.


Registration and Eligibility:



  • Register clients for mobile services or referral to other HealthRIGHT 360 services as appropriate

  • Provide eligibility services to clients to engage them in appropriate health insurance or program coverage.

  • Review and confirm clients’ insurance status at time of registration

  • Schedule clients for appointments as needed

  • Adheres to all HIPPA regulations


Outreach:



  • Provides outreach services as necessary for the smooth operation of the mobile health van.

  • As appropriate acts as a liaison to neighbor business and residents in areas of mobile services.


Other duties as assigned.
 



Education and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



Education and Knowledge Required:



  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience

  • Valid and active California Class B Driver’s License

  • No infraction in driving record for previous three years


Desired:



  • Bi-lingual in Spanish or Cantonese


Skills and Qualifications Required:



  • Ability to drive to various sites in all types of weather

  • Commitment to and experience with mobile or street based services

  • Commitment to providing nonjudgmental quality health care to those in need

  • Experience and commitment to working with diverse communities

  • Experience working with homeless populations, those suffering from addiction and mental illness, and those with a criminal justice history.

  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word Outlook and internet applications

  • Detail oriented

  •  Ability to enter data into various electronic systems while maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the data

  •  Professionalism, punctuality, flexibility and reliability are imperative

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills

  • Integrity to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner

  • Action oriented

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Excellent organization skills and ability to multitask and juggle multiple priorities
