The San Francisco office of SmithGroup is looking for a Senior Graphic Designer to join our team.
Working with us, you will:
Develop proposals, qualifications and presentation graphics.
Assist in implementation and evolution of corporate identity across all internal design materials.
Execute the design for both printed and digital pieces, such as brochures, newsletters, award submittals, emailers, banners, videos and other miscellaneous signage.
Contribute to the design and presentation of client projects including the development of reports and environmental graphic design by working closely with a more senior designer.
Collaborate with team members across disciplines and geographic locations to produce graphics for a wide variety of teams across SmithGroup.
Support concept development for printed and digital pieces with members of the Creative Services team.
Create brand materials through design and attention to detail; think creatively and outside the box.
Collaborate with more senior designers to develop engaging and strategic design across the firm.
Maintain knowledge of design trends.
Offer suggestions to push the creative limits of collateral materials within the confines of the SmithGroup brand and Communications Guidelines.
Contribute to the analysis of internal and external client needs and recommend suitable approaches or options to consider while paired with a more senior designer.
Contribute to analysis of target markets, competitors and clients as needed.
Support the evolution of the SmithGroup brand while maintaining the core corporate identity system.
Assist in the development of strategy for project-specific marketing activities as well as studio marketing initiatives.
Assist in providing peer review of initial draft documents and review materials for visual consistency.
An ideal candidate has:
Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Marketing or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
4-6 years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrated proficiency in: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Bridge, Word, Acrobat, and PowerPoint.
Knowledge of Deltek Vision, MS Outlook, SharePoint, Excel and Database programs preferred
Ability to understand principles of layout and application to marketing materials.
Eye for design details, such as typography, alignment, hierarchy, etc.
Ability to summarize text and craft an effective written message when needed.
Knowledge of the print process, proper file setup for print production and experience working directly with print vendors.
Understanding of video creation and video editing tools, such as Adobe Premier Pro, is a plus.
Knowledge of other presentation technologies is a plus.
SmithGroup's competitive compensation and benefit package is designed meet the needs of a diverse staff. The anticipated salary range for this position is $71,000 to $85,000 annually, at the time of posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the anticipated salary range for this position. Additionally, an employee in this position is eligible for a performance-based bonus on an annual basis. Our comprehensive benefits include medical, dental and vision coverage, flexible spending account options and voluntary insurances.
