Evolv AI is seeking an experienced candidate to join our high-growth Artificial Intelligence (AI) startup headquartered in San Francisco. Collaborating with our world-class product development teams and researchers (AI and Cognitive Science), you will help translate cutting edge research into real world impact in one of the most financially important areas in technology, the digital experience.

What You’ll Be Doing
 
As a Software Engineer at Evolv, you will work with our small, highly-skilled engineering team delivering solutions to complex business and systems problems. Owning all solutions across the stack using cutting-edge technologies, algorithms, and techniques , you will have the opportunity to work with some of the world’s top companies, helping them to achieve their user experience goals.

Your Responsibilities

      • Work with a cutting edge, globally distributed, serverless architecture handling data at massive scale
      • Use vast amounts of data to power advanced AI algorithms
      • Collaborate with a small, cross-functional team to prioritize and clarify product improvements
      • Identify and implement minimal, well-crafted solutions
      • Improve stability and maintainability of the codebases you work in
      • Apply engineering best practices and design patterns

What You'll Need

      • An ambitious attitude and desire to build great things at a start-up pace
      • A deep curiosity and drive to improve our customers’ experience
      • A track record of having a big impact on the codebase
      • A practical approach to building - cutting what isn't critical, but not compromising code quality
      • BS in CS / closely related field, or professional industry experience in a related role (5+ years preferred)
      • Strong analytical skills
      • Data pipeline experience at scale (Flink, Spark or similar)
      • Experience with high availability cloud applications and services on AWS or similar (Python, JavaScript / TypeScript, Java, or Go preferred)
      • Knowledge of building RAG pipelines
      • Ability to communicate effectively with people of varying technical levels
      • A drive for concise, readable code
      • Statistics or UX backgrounds are a plus
Candidates must be located in the USA.
 
The Salary Range for this role is $150,000-$200,000 per year + equity + benefits.
Evolv's salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Evolv expects to hire for this position at or near the middle of the range. Only in rare and exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position, would Evolv consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range. Please note that the compensation details in the range provided reflect the base salary only, and does not include equity or benefits.
