Warehouse Lead

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated Warehouse Lead to join our South San Francisco CA 94080 Freight Forwarding office.  You will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and timely processing of incoming and outgoing shipments. You will work closely with our team to maintain a safe and organized warehouse environment and ensure that cargo is handled as per our standards and is dispatched in a timely fashion. Your attention to detail, willingness to help where needed, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment will be critical to your success in this role. 

This is a full time Warehouse lead position with opportunity for overtime and career growth.  The ideal candidate will have a great opportunity to learn about project-based logistics and operations with room to grow within the company. We are looking to welcome someone with a bright and quick disposition to the Rock-it Cargo team.

Responsibilities: 

• Receive and process incoming/outgoing shipments
• Screen cargo for air transport
• Packing, wrapping, labeling and/or shipping orders
• Managing, organizing, and retrieving stock in warehouse
• Operate and maintain warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and banding equipment
• Loading and unloading trucks/ocean containers
• Building and breaking down skids/airline pallets
• Maintain shipping and receiving logs
• Accepting and processing incoming materials

Qualifications: 

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Sharp attention to detail and ability to proactively problem solve
• Excellent communication skills
• Must wear protective gear and steel-toed shoes
• Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs.
• Strong prioritization, planning, and time management skills
• Comfort with MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and basic computer knowledge
• Must possess valid identification, preferably a valid driver's license
• Ability to pass a security background check
• Punctual and dependable

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1-3 years of air freight or trucking  warehouse experience 
• Previous experience with cargo screening a plus
• Forklift certification
• Experience with inventory management software
• Experience in a customer service role
• Previous experience working in an airline cargo warehouse is a plus
